Green Composites Based on PLA and Cotton Fabric Waste: Preparation and Characterization

Textile waste, from both consumption and production, has dramatically increased due to a lack of diversification in its use. Increasing the number textile alternatives can help solve these problems. Producing green composite product is an interesting alternative method. The objectives this work were study preparation characterization composites created PLA cotton fabric waste (CFW) consider effect CFW content on composites. procedure research began with pellets preparation; was subsequently compounded using melt-mixing technique twin-screw extruder at ratios 90:10, 80:20, 70:30 wt% between respectively. Then, testing specimens produced by compression molding. experiments demonstrated that increase caused viscosity, stiffness, Tg, Tm, water absorption decomposition temperature showed range 302.41 361.22 °C; decreased when increased. An also greater clearer phase separation roughness fracture surface area.
